Why don't you just buy a PS/2 extension cord?
it might, the signal might get corrupte...if the cable runs through a piece of ferrite it might help to keep the 1 at 1 and 0 at 0...it's the small bumps on the cords you see, check your pc-screen signal cableQuote:

Oh, wow fast response, thx. Ok ill look for an extention. and also, can i paint the top of a touch pad? How does it work? is it heat based? or magnetic? electric? what about if i use a sharpie marker? thx
They are based on capacitance, but the paint would quickly wear away I would think. I extended a ps/2 keyboard with phone wire to about 15 ft, and it worked just fine, but I would think a mouse would be much more subject to noise.
sorry for being such a tard but what is capacitance?
You can get PS/2 extension cables from almost anywhere. I've used them on keyboards without any trouble.
Just plugged a 6-footer into the mouse and don't see any difference. (MS Intellimouse & ABIT KG7-R)
I'd suggest against a do it yourself cable, as there's probably a shielding and wrapping pattern that should be followed. Plus, it's a lot of work when you can buy a pre-made cable for $3...
cool
Ill try to get a cable tomorrow
