Post How to display mp3's in the dash with a readout display?

    Hi everyone,

I'm a long time reader, first time poster to the board I came across a few installs and i am going to add a computer to my setup in the next few months. Now, on some of the installs, i saw din sized display units displaying what mp3 was playing and etc. from the computer. I was wondering how this is made possible? Can i purchase a unit like this? or do i have to construct it? Here's an image of one:

This pic is form http://www.mp3car.com/usersites/arby/pictures.html . I was wondering what unit that is displaying the mp3's and how it connects to the computer. What software does it need etc?

Thanks alot everyone! Your help is mucho Appriciated

In short, no you can't buy it premade. You need to buy a 4X40 LCD, solder the parallel cable to it, and then pick up some polarized film and inverse it to get it to look like that.
