Check the capacitors on the motherboard. If they're bloated up, you're gonna need to recap the mobo.

I have an FV24 my friend gave me and I have a spare P3 1.0GHZ and P3 866Mhz laying around. Neither will boot the pc but the cyrix 600 he gave me with it will. I have searched high and low, on here and on google. All to no avail as to why this issue is rearing its ugly head. I know that others on here have this same proc/mobo combo with no problems. Can anyone please point me into the right direction. Also I know that both P3's are good.

So that would keep the motherboard from utilizing a p3 but not the cyrix..... kinda makes sense. Where can I find these capacitors?

P.S.
The bad caps have nothing to do with the processor.
Therefore, I don't quite get the first part of your comment.

Well if bad caps have nothing to do with the processor then why would the cyrix 600 run on the board but not either of the p3's?
Try updating the BIOS... sometimes that makes stuff like that work...

Sorry, I must've misread the part about the Cyrix working fine.Originally Posted by kameleon
Do try what Rafster suggested above. Also look for a hidden jumper or two.
