I doubt it'd be a problem.
im looking for a power supply for my pioneer deck, i'm installing the pioneer ipod adapter and the only wire left to install is the yellow power line. the installation book says specifically "Never feed power to other equpiment by cutting the insulation of the power supply lead of the unit and tapping into the lead, the current capacity will be exceeded causing overheating." which was my original plan. where do i get the power source for this adapter? i assumed since both wires were yellow and said itd be possible to tap into one another, i guess not. any help would be appreciated.
ill try it, any more suggestions? and whats the worst that could happen?
so before my car goes up in flames can someone tell me if i should disconnect the splice that i made. everythings working fine but its better safe than sorry.
You should be fine, as long as you didn't bypass any fuses and the line you're using is actually fused, you shouldn't run into any problems.
I have the XM and Sirius adapters in my wife's car powered off the 12v behind the radio, been that way for over a year with no problems.
