    Powering screen....

    Hi,

Is it safe to power a screen off where the radio was once powered, ie those wires in the harness? Surely, as the cigarette lighter adapter is little morethan a fuse. LinITX 8"

Depends on the screen size and type. Power wise there is no problem if you are talking about a 8 inch because they usually need less than 10 watts (less than 1 amp) but depending on the brand, your screen may require regulated power and that wire is probably not regulated so you will run the risk of damaging your screen. If you have the lighter plugin (which is the regulator for most devices) for your screen, you can wire that in between the radio wire and the screen and then you should be safe
