Are shuttle PCs good choices for a car?

I have been looking at building a pc from scratch using a mini case and laptop parts, but then I found you could get prebuilt shuttles like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Shuttle-PC-Compu...QQcmdZViewItem for reasonably cheap. Are these good in cars assuming I wire the Opus up correctly to them? Also I see trunk mounts, how is the heat issue?

p4's suck in a car.... an opus will be overworked trying to power that.... & it'll spew a lot of heat because of the wastefull way a p4 does it's thing...

the shuttle form factor is good, but look for one powered by a pentium m processor... it'll cost more but be much better suited for the job....

First off, the Opus 150w is going to have a hrd time powering that, a the P42.8 draws quite a bit of power.
Here's a thread that will give you a better explanation about DC-DC power supplies: FAQ: Will <insert PSU model> Power Supply work with my system?

I use a modified Shuttle SN41G2 for my setup. I only have overheating issues if my truck is parked on a hot day and the A/C isn't on.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

have u done anythin to help solve the heat problem?

i have a shuttle sk41G and just recently it shuts off after a few minutes after being on (abrubtly) and i presume its a heat issue since it started roughly around the time the weather warmed up.
I wish i knew how to do fiberglass work...
