    How to control audio volume?

For those of you that have set up a screen in your 2 DIN slot, (which left you with no space to put a deck) how do you handle the changing of volume of the amp?
Are you doing it from the PC (off screen control) or some other separate control?

I need ideas, and suggestions of what has worked, and what hasn't.

there are two options, on screen or off

on screen is pretty self explanitory

    off is a different story

I'm running an alpine processor, I controll my volume through this.

If you get an EQ or the like, you can controll volume through it

Some people have purchased various knobs to control volume as well that connect via USB.

you could hack a mouse and remap the scroll wheel to control volume through a program called girder. you can replace the scroll wheel with a rotary encoder and have yourself a nice volume knob.

Thanks for the quick reply guys...
But further from what I was asking, where have people been putting these "off screen" volume controls?
If my 2 DIN slot is taken up by the screen itself, where have you put the volume knob? Or did you manage to squeeze that on the bezel somewhere off to the side?

You can try to put it somewhere along your lower center console.

You can also use the X or Y axis of a ball-mouse. These mice are cheaper than a scroll mouse. They are usually free from University basements.
