Arrow What gauge wire do I run?

I was hoping to use a small wire in my radio harness for the 12v supply, but i think it is an 18 gauge wire...

Does a carpc psu need thick 4 gauge wire with a 30amp fuse like an audio amplifier would? (coming directly from battery through firewall)?

    Thanks!

Also, Why do I need a power distro block if I want to power my computer and my amp, cant I just split the power wire??

4awg would be overkill, however 18awg from the stereo harness is insufficient.
I'd think 10awg from the battery is more than sufficient. AS far as the fuse, you need to calculate the amperage draw and fuse accordingly. There's no one-size-fits-all answer for that.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

will 8awg and 15a fuse be enough?

also, will i need power distro block and what kind of fuses go in that? thanks

for 80watts, you'd be fine with 12ga... I don't have the site links at work, but 80watts is barely any power draw... essentially the longer the wire run the bigger the gauge you need...

that wasn't too hard... so let's say you have a 15' run and 80watts... 80/12 = 6.6amps... according to that chart 18ga would do it... 16 and 14 would put you on the safe side...
