    Sbc....

    Ok it is time for my next box
    I might be going the SBC way this time. I want a SBC atleasta pIII 500+ mb
    1) It must have TV-OUT!!!!! a must!
    2) It must be capable of playing DVD's!!! another must!
    3) It must have USB
    4) DOC is ok, but not a must....
    5) It must have atleast 2 ide... HD + CDROM!!!! a must
    6) It must have onboard sound...
    7) Power....from what i see so far it looks like most take from 5/12v at diff amps so thats a diff story!
    8) Last but not least it MUST BE SMALL.
    9) oohh optional PCI....

    I hope i didnt miss anything... I need this info ASAP so i can start drawing things out

    This one has everything you've stated, but it's not cheap. Direct from Advantech this if $870, includes on onboard P3-500 CPU.

    It is $469.00 on this site but someone said you could buy it cheaper somewhere else...

    Still, $469 sounds like a great price for what it does!

    I dont see any reason it wouldnt with the right chip (p3 800) and enough ram

    Hmmm....its either i am looking at the wrong board or something else. D/l the *.pdf file, it says it only support Celeron 300-444mhz

    A more cost effective offering from Advantech would be the PCM-9574. At only $435, this sucker packs quite a punch.

    EDIT: No tv-out on this board, but who needs it when you've got a flat panel controller? It's probably available as an option if you call them.

    just a thought

    Any specific reason you wouldn't use an FV-24? They support up to 1.2ghz Pentium i believe. Plus it's got a PCI, onboard vid, sound, lan, firewire etc.

    There's probably some obvious reason I'm missing.
