Anyone used on of these powermate things?

    http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/452

Just wondering if anyone has used one of these, and how the configuring of it works? The website makes out like you can use it for everything but without any explaination ?

    Cheers guys

Excellant thanks very much i shall check out idrive as well

Ive searched and found lots of responces, but the mention of idrive was only that skins existed to mimic the look of idrive, but with out the functionality. ALso my search for powermate didnt really list any alternatives that i could find. (although i did only get about 5 pages into the search before i lost the will to continue!)

The powermate that I bought is a very neat looking paperweight that sits on my computer desk doing exactly what it is good for: Nothing. I can very rarely get the thing to work correctly in the truckputer. I have plugged it into my wife's computer and I have to reboot once hers goes into standby. My brand new laptop doesn't seem to interact too well with it either. I have tried to update drivers, contacted the vendor for support to no avail, etc. I give up. I have tried everything that I can think of. Save your self some cash and avoid the powermate. Or you can buy a really nice paperweight!!

Interesting thread, but it actually seemed to point towards using a powermate? Which kind of go's against what Eternalodyssey said...

Hey man... Don't waste your money on the powermate. I wanted to believe a really slick looking piece of hardware had to work. Afterall, they took a lot of care to make a really stylish looking device. The sad truth us they just forgot to hire someone who could write a device driver that actually works!
Its been relegated to a blue tub where all my unused cables and other cool but useless tech products live.

Dude, I'm telling you right now that if you buy that decroded peice of crap brand new, Jack Bauer will come to your house and slap you after all of the negative feedback that the Powermate has received. Or you could just buy my decroded peice of crap paperweight Powermate (software included) for $25. But I warn you, I have not gotten this thing to work on any system. PM me if you're interested. Brand new I think it was $50.
