Post What brand is your HD and how old?

I am right now searching for a new hard drive, the one i have is a little too small 2.4GB with tons of bad clusters and still haven't been in the car. I'm looking for a HD at least 20GB for a reasonable price (less than $85). So tell me what HD (IBM, Seagate, Maxtor, WD, etc.) you are using on your current system, how old is and names of HD who died on you(if this is your case).

The road to my house it is full of big potholes, so opinion from people who lives in potholes towns are welcome.

If you're worried about reliability over cost, go with a laptop hard drive. They're made to withstand vibrations and shock. IBM makes good notebook drives.

speed isn't that important when you're running mp3s, and the laptop hard drives will be plenty fast.

If you buy a desktop hdd, don't buy IBM, they aven't been known for reliability lately.

Also, laptop hdds can take more abuse than desktops.

Can I put a laptop hard drive on a hard drive caddy(I know that I need the 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adapter) so I can transfer my mp3?

I'm using a 10.2Gig Fujitsu laptop drive about a year old. It is a replacement for a 6.4Gig laptop drive that was damaged in a car accident.

Yes, you can put a laptop drive in a caddy. You just need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter....SEARCH.
