Why does computer sound much better than stereo?

After hooking up everything and playing mp3s and dvds, I've noticed that the sound is much better than my headunits cd.

It's still going through the headunit though for amp. Why does computer sound better? Is it becasue the line out puts alot of preamp voltage out?

All I know is that my friends think I have a sub woofer in my trunk when I play DVD's.

The carputer is so sick and fun. Glad it works 100%.

Soon I'll have full pictures up.

Soundcard on the computer has a better signal processor than the head unit...

Think about it - you probably spent as much on the head unit as you did on the sound card!

    It's AC97 onboard sound from a motherboard I bought for 35.00 + 10 shipping buks only.
My headunit was 259.00 + tax.

I'm not complaining though. SOunds awesome.
