When the BIOS detects the drive, does it say that it's a master or slave drive?
Hey everyone maybe you guys could shed some light on my little dilemma.
I bought one of these ( EBay Item ) but when I put it on the 2.5 laptop drive that I have already formatted in my laptop; My carputer, or my PC will see it in BIOS but will not boot off the drive. Has anyone else experienced any thing like this before? I was thinking it might have something to do with the MBR because it was formatted and installed on a laptop then thrown into a PC, but after I formatted the drive on my laptop, windows XP setup will still fail to see the drive. I also tried installing the 3rd party adaptors in the xp setup just for the hell of it, still didn’t work. Any help would be awesome, thanks again guys.

And what happens when it 'doesn't boot'. Does it display an error after the BIOS, get partway through windows startup and crash?
When BIOS finds the drive its the master so and when I try to boot off the drive
I get the no operating system found error, and when I try to install windows, the XP setup says it sees no drive. I have never seen anything like this before, but this is also the first time i ever used a 2.5" converter, thanks for the input guys!
