video signal mirroring?

has anyone found a way to inverse (mirror) a video signal from a camera??
i have found those cheap IR cameras (25-30 euros) and would like to use them as reverse camera!! but they do not inverse the image

most people go ahead and purchase the cameras that have it built in. One thing I would worry about is the picture quality on one of those cheap cameras.

is it CCD?

yep it is a ccd it is even advertized as a 0 lux!!
it is the "ztv 812"

there is no simple way to mirror the image...

it is not the same image as the pixels your used to.... composite uses a scan from top left start, to top right, back to left one later down, back to right, & basically zigzags across the screen till it reaches the end, bottom right... then starts over

to flip the image you have to alter the scan.... if it started from right to left, it would be mirrored, but this can't just be done in line.. it would be very complicated, basically the signal would need to be converted to digital, then altered... you can do this on your pc... but for a mirror image on a composite screen you will either need a camera that does mirror image or use a multiplexer that supports mirror image... or a screen that does mirror image..natively at the display itself...

that camera looks like crap also... the 0 lux rating is bs... the only reason they are advertizing 0 lux is AFTER the infrared assist... ANY camera will be 0 lux with infrared assist... that means nothing...

yea i know.. ofcourse 0 lux is with ir support.. but the same camera with the same characteristics is sold on line "for the car pc market" 70-80-90 euros.. that is my point..

i understand that image mirroring is not very simple but what the heck , this forum has solved more complicated problems

same specifications though..
many things are overpriced when they have the title "for automotive use"!!
have seen it before.

no, just because it's the same specs doesn't mean it's even close to the same thing.

Many times, things for the car are overpriced because they have to be ruggidized. That costs money, usually quite a bit of money. Just for starters.

Go ahead and get the camera. Since it's wrong of someone to try and save you money and keep you from making a bad decision/bad purchase, I'll refrain from going any further with you.
