    automotive hard drive MP3 player

Currently I have a Neo Car Jukebox running in my car, and it has been running for about a year and a half. Recently it's been having some issues with it's hardware and so I started thinking about making a custom hard drive based auto MP3 player. Basically all I'm looking to build is a system that is:

    • powered by 12v or CD changer power
    • compatible with 3.5" IDE hard drives
    • interfaced through a 20x4 LCD panel
    • has basic mp3 browsing and playlist capabilities

Anyone know of any DIYs or models out now? I came across this http://contents.fifthunit.com/html/p...h/sku.779.html, which is a good system it looks like, but isn't able to be controlled really outside of a monitor or TV.

that looks good except on it's page it says that because of it's low buffer it'd probably skip if bolted into a car, and that it has no functions that allow using a playlist.
