Ok so it is a pain that i have to put my CB down everytime i enter the garage and up when i leave, so would it be possible to use the servo board that sproggy built to control the antenna with a servo? Anyone have any ideas?

the sproggy servo board does way more than i need it to. I'm just looking for something that would allow me to press one button and have it go one way, and press another to have it turn the other way.
Ok, how about a 12v stepper motor. But how do i get it to go backward?
Ok so i found an old DC motor i had in my garage, i tested it and it is really fast at 12v, and fast a 5v. I think it will be way to fast for my needs, is there any simple way to reduce the speed. I was thinking using gears, Little one on the moto, and a huge one on another axis. Is there an electrical way to pulsate the power to give a full voltage but in short bursts to slow it down?
what happens if i take a relay and run current through the realay, so that it is turning itself on and off very quickly, to create a pluse of current?
What you're referring to is called "Pulse Width Modulation" or PWM. There are many circuits floating around the net for this.
It would kill a relay really fast.
Don't know how else to help, though :/
Heh, look at what the first return was on google

cool! any ideas of how i would keep the motor from spining back once the antenna is up. Is there anyway to "lock" the motor without burning it up??
Good motors to use for this would be wiper motors. They usually come aready geared, with internal switches that trip when the motor has reached one extreme of rotation. Should be fairly simple to build a relay based circuit to run it.
wow good thinking~!~
