Thread: Pioneer/Kenwood/Clarion and AUX Input ??

Go with a Kenwood! I did! They have isolated inputs, and the signal to noise ratio is 120db, so hiss is negligable. Mine is a KRC-387 tape tuner (why have a cd??) and it works extremely well. You have to buy a special cable that plugs into where the CD changer goes, and on the other end is a pair of RCA's for the input. It's the cheapest method, without compromising quality. Don't use a Pioneer, as the inputs aren't isolated and the hum is anoying (the bus adaptor method). I tried out all of the range (my mate owns a car stereo shop) and found the Kenny to be by far the best.

many pioneer hu such as deh-7000r (!!!!) can be inputed with a $20 rb-20 adapter (1800-pioneer)

cool feature is that you can labeel the aux source

I have a Kenwood KDC-6105 and it has the aux input option. You have to purchase the cable seperately. It plugs into where the cd changer goes so you loose that capability but for 5000 songs its worth it. =)

Good sound quality too.

most of the Pioneer head units have it with the adapter mykolJay said and I dont know about in australia but in the US starting with the model DEH-P3100 on up have it. the adapter is called Auxiliary Input Adapter RCA for IP-Bus Headunits so it looks like any Pioneer unit that has IP-Bus can use it (that would be all the ones with CD-Changer controls) you can also get the input cable with a passthru in case you also wanted to add on a cd changer for some reason.

My Pioneer Premier DEH-P720 has a aux. input built in. But have a good time finding this deck. It retails for $400+ and is the premium line so its hard to find. I know smilephotovideo.com has it for like $300. Thats where i got mine.

Anyone got the PN for the Kenwood "adapter"? I have a kenwood and need to pick one up.

I just picked one up. My receipt says the PN is CAC1AX. Thats just the one for the DIN to RCA's... theres also one that has a pass-through for a CD-changer and the RCA's as well. Not sure of the PN for that.

I just bought a kenwood adapter a couple dayz ago and it works perfect when I tested it with a tape player. I have a picture of the adapter on my website www.mp3-box.org and the model # with it you can get it at www.crutchfield.com they list it for 25$ but they ended up selling it to me for 14$ along with the remote i bought for 20 when its listed on their site for 25 and the acutal list price is 50$. (its verynice for when i add a irman later on down the road)

I know for a fact that the clarion 9575 and 9675 can have AUX inputs....since I have a clarion deck in my car.

In my opinion, the 9675 has the best display I have ever seen on a HU. I'll be adding the DVD player that goes with it too. Gotta have that 5.1 surround sound!
