Thread: Newbie HDD Idea (moved from FAQ Emporium)

    I am planning to use an external bus powered 2.5 HDD case, which I would leave the cable plugged into the pc and remove the hdd when leaving the car parked for extended periods of time. Since the case is so small, it wont be much of an inconvenience. This way the problem of extreme temps isnt as much of an issue. The cable has 2 usb male heads on the PC side, one for power, one for data. I could take that one step further and use a flash card to boot the OS and leave that plugged into the PC all the time as well, using the HDD for storing music, movies, etc.

    Here is the little HDD case I mentioned. They are cheap and many different sizes and colours...
