Problem: Standby, Hibernate, can only resume once

I have an aopen mini pandora, running windows xp pro sp2.
I can go into standby or hibernate just fine.
When I get out of standby or hibernate THE FIRST TIME, everything functions properly.
But lets say I go into a standby or hibernate again, then when I resume, my whole computer just locks up, its not completely frozen, but everything is slow and non-functional.
This can only be cured with a reboot. Does anyone have a similar issue or know whats causing this?
