Cool Wiring Diagram - Need your awesome feedback!

I have been working on adding this carpc to my car for months now, and after messing with some components i have finally gotten around to getting ready to install it all.
Using an Ampie case in the trunk with a gig of ram, 60gig hd and a few other goodies, i have a 7inch lilliput in the dash, 8inch lilliput in the backseat, and lots of accessories.

I really need to know what you guys think of the diagram i have drawn up, as i need to make sure i have all the components and wiring ready to go when i decide to do it. its all going into an Audi A8L, so its a REALLY difficult car to take apart, and thus i want to get it all done at once if possible.

I have the CarPC already installed in the trunk, its working great!!! but so far thats the only piece of the puzzle thats completed. i still need to install the screeen and custom bezel, the deck in the glovebox with the usb hub, dvd drive and sound card, and i need to install another usb hub in the trunk for all the accessories.... basically i have a lot of work ahead of me.

I AM not engineer, and i'm not really great with electronics, but i have tried to break down the wiring to simple and safe terms that will be realiable. PLEASE scrutinize the wiring and show me anything that is good bad or ugly that i might need to know.

    here it is...

and the car its going in (on custom airride)

thats much in advance.... been a lurker on my other username for about 6 months never posted - and i tried to post today, and i guess i never activated it... so i had to make a new one, but "here here" to my first post

    difficult to see

The picture you post is very hard to see/understand.
I suggest you line up the parts more so you have a better overview(ofcourse you know exactly what everything does, but I dont)

make a wiring diagram and a overview

    make it happen

first thing that jumps out is power. you are going to need power regulation for alot of that kit, usb hubs can be picky and intolerant to excess/under voltage, also get a better voltage reg for the screen, the stock liliput reg is just nasty, i assume your including some thing like an opus in the pc . I'm also asuming that the trunk battery is not the main battery for the car, so your going to need some way of charging it. the HDD in the trunk will need power. front hub is a long way up the car so you might find you need some kind of extended range usb extension, power to it will be questionable you might get away with not powering it but be ready just in case you cant.

you seem to have an amp feeding back into you deck, i'm gueesing that feed is ment to be going the other way and driving the speakers through the stock radio loom, make sure the cable can handle the power the amp is putting out.

you have a random microphone floating near the screen, where it that running back to?

what is air-ride? i've not heard of it so can't comment

that should keep you going for a bit

    1. Yes, I need to power the monitor at 12v using some sort of regulator, and yes i need to power the usb hub, and dvd rom at 5v using some sort of regulator.

what i was thinking is that i want to get another opus supply, and run it out of a box in that i will fabricate in the glove box, this will give me both 5v to run the hub and the dvd rom, as well as the 12v to run the monitor. I will be running another Hub in the trunk, but i figured that i could simply run this one off of the power from the M1 ATX that is already in the CARPC.

    2. Yes, i am running a M1 ATX power supply that is already installed in the PC.... the PC has been working perfectly for about 6 months already.

    3. The Microphone will be hooked up to the USB, sorry i missed the connection.

    4. I have already run a USB extension which is sheilded to the glove box - this works perfectly for 1 or two devices, but i REALLY need to power a hub up here to support the devices i want to run off of it.

    5. The sound system that came in the a8 is a full Bose system, which is already ampped, and it should be as easy as using an adapter to take the stock bose connector and plugging it into the Pioneer one to get the sound to work - I am getting a professional stereo installer to do this for me.

    6. Airride is a full suspension kit that i have to adjust the level of suspension - the airride ALREADY has a remote wire to tell the compressors that its okay to turn on... i am using that same remote wire to tell the carpc to turn on as well.

Do you guys have any suggestions for regulating both the 12 and the 5v like that, or do you think that another OPUs will do the trick just fine?

    1) yes that is workable, an opus or equivelent will power that lot with out trouble. chances are you'll find it will run all you usb devices and provide a nice steady 12v for you monitor so it wount need an additional regulator (it will come with one but it's not a very good one)

    2)good
    3)good
    4) if its in and working then fantastic, but definatly go for the powerd hub up front, nothing more irritating than a port over load warning.
    5) if you getting a pro to do the audio hook up then he/she 'll beable to answer those questions better than me. just make your you have an aux in some where
    6) sounds like that remote wire is probably an ignition feed (comes on when you turn the ignition on). no reaon why you cant tap into that. the other option is to take the remote feed from the back of the deck (usually a blue wire) it will turn on and off with the stereo rather than the ignition.

    I had one more question...

How can i make the Lilliput stay in constant power... so that whenever i turn the car on, the screen is on automatically!
I dont want to have to push a button to turn the screen on every time i get in the car, and since it will be hooked up to the opus supply, it should just be able to turn on when it gets power!!

Not sure about the Lili, but the Xenarc can be powered off the 12V regulated line from the M1-ATX and it will go on and off when the PC does. No button pushing required. Be sure you don't exceed the current output on the 12V rail though. M1 won't like you anymore.

read the "all you need to know about your lilli" faq in the displays category, look closely and you will find a procedure to input codes into most lillis made after 2004-5 that will set the firmware to turn on when power is applied. There is a hardware hack but the codes will work for most people.
