    Post New AIWA Stereos!

Forget the mambox and pines! I just saw on aiwas website their new top of the line cd player still has the input jack for mp3computers, full flap type cd player, but it also plays mp3 cds, cdr/cdrw compatible. And they say it should go for a retail of $300! You wont need to have computer in car unless you really want to have all those songs availible if you cant remember which cd you put em on.. Or for example your computers cpu burns out or seomthing, you can still listen to mp3s in your car, just burn a few cds to last you till u can get another cpu.
I know this sounds like advertising but hey, its a cool thing. AIWA still leading the pack.
    WOohoo
I think they said they should be availible in april or may, cant remember

Hey, im about to order the Aiwa cd player you reccomended below. (the top of the line from audio warehouse for $170). I read some reviews, and most of them said quality sucks and it skips alot. That + the fact that the remaining working tape player (the other one broke a long time ago) just broke on my Aiwa home system. That makes me worried about buying one. Does your's skip at all? Would you buy it again?

I just dont want to buy something that is gonna break soon...

I own an Awai home system I bought about 2 years ago. I have never had a singal problem with it. Just after I bout it, It was recaled, because 100 had smoked, and 2 had caught fire. They returned the fixed system to me in 3 days, with a free tape player. I have never had a problem with them.

    Question

TimW, how about a link to what you saw? Don't see what you are talking about on their site!

I didnt buy the aiwa from audiowarehouse, dont know if i will cause of the new ones comin out, but for the most part aiwas are very reliable- 2 friends of mine have aiwa car stereos and they dont have problems with em... I have a sort of small shelf stereo from aiwa that works perfectly.-
And where did i see the new aiwas.. ah dang i cant see on their page.. maybe it wasnt on their page.. hmm.. looking.. just a sec. booya! found it http://www.aiwa.com/Company.asp?pid=31&news=46

or just go to their main page, it should come up with 'company' (their "about" page).. then click on "NEWS" then go down a couple articles to where it says "feature packed car audio line" or somethin like that..
    Nice features--
    o ya, not sugg. $300, suggested $350...

In CD receivers, AIWA's most innovative new model is the CDC-MP3, equipped with a CD player able to play MP3-encoded discs. Typically, these would be CD-R discs onto which a consumer, using a CD-R/RW recorder, has recorded MP3 files downloaded from the Internet.
Other CDC-MP3 features include a power output of 45 watts X 4, full flap type detachable front panel, CD changer control, four-color LCD dot matrix display, two preamp outputs, steering wheel remote control, Advanced H-Bass, Source Level Adjustment, My Information and Advanced DSSA. The CDC-MP3 will be available in June at a suggested retail price of $350.00

    NOOOOOO JUNE IS TOOOOO LONG!!!

    Cool

It's only a matter of time before the big boys like Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, etc... get on the bandwagon and put these units out! Can you FEEL it....!

The sony and others are sure to have SDMI to prevent you from playing back some of the mp3's.

I wouldnt doubt most of them putting in some kind of thing that reads the copyright thing in the ID3 tag and prevents copyrighted ones from being played or soemthing like that.
Ya wouldnt doubt other companies trying the same thing, but i think they'll hold back a bit to see what the consumer response is (man i sound like i should be in business!).. na, some companies probably are skeptical and might not make them because most people dont know what the heck mp3 is.

Yea it won't be long before all the major car audio players have mp3 gear. At CES this year it seems just about everyone had a working mp3 player wether or not it was ready to be sold. Most of the companies seemed to be using cd as the format for mp3 playback. One that stood out is the Rockford Fosgate "changer" for lack of a better description that uses 8 smart cards to hold mp3s and works with any of the 1999 or 2000 model year head units. I do seem to remember something about sony using some kind of system to prevent copyrighted playback but I think they are sticking with the mini-disc format for a while longer. Jason
