    VoomPC Question

    Hi,

I am building some computers for marine use, using the VoomPC case for its robust construction. The Navigational software is not particularly demanding but what I do need at the rear of the case are:

    2 x 9-pin RS232 ports
    VGA port
    4 x USB ports
    PS2 mouse
    PS2 Keyboard
A PCMCIA slot (desirable but not essential)

Can anyone advise me as to the board, add-ons etc required for this configuration?

The case isn't going to have the ports. The motherboard is what will support (or not support) a second DB9 serial port.
The M10000 (which fits int eh Voom case) has one DB9 serial port on the board plus headers to add a second serial port as well. You would only need the port that connects to the motherboard headers, which should be available at any decent computer shop.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Take a look at VIAs boards. My MII 1000, as pretty much all that. One of the serial ports is internal, however, and only has 2 USB ports on the back. You could always use a USB hub, or use the internal header to get 2 more ports. It has a PCMCIA, and compactflash slot. And it even has firewire...
