    Switch

As explained in a previous thread i am building a Car pc but also want to keep my headunt.

I plan toodo this by taking out of the audio line fom the sound card in to a switch with also a line coming in from the H/U which will then lead to the amp which will play the speakers.

Has anyone got an idea on what kind of hardare i could use to act as he switch?

    thanks for your help

    I am confused.

You have an amp, and you want to be able to choose which source, CARPC or HU, supplies the AMP.

First, why not get a HU with AUX in, that way you don't need to do that.

Next, if you want to do this, it will take a switch mounted somewhere, and 3 or 4 automotive type relays.

Read up on what Auto Relays do, and how to hook them up, over at www.the12volt.com

Sorry i didn't give much detail.

Ive got a headunit with the options Cd/Tuner/Aux

Basically i have my pc which will run thorugh the Aux, then oviously tuner for the radio.

I want the audio out from the computer going in to something similar to a switch which will also have the h/u connected to it. this will then connect to the amp which will play speakers.

So the Pc will always be running through the H/u for the sound, with hopefully being able to use the sound controls on the H/u to control sound coming form the pc?

HUH??? What do you need the switch for? What is it accomplishing that that the HU can't do?

    Yes.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Is that really a question. I know there is a question mark at the end, but it doesn't sound like a question.
