On the initiation boot, does it say C3 1.5Ghz or C7 1.5Ghz?

It says C3 until you properly update the BIOS< then it will say C7-D 1.5

Alright, well update on this A5 BIOS, it seems like ive lost standby function in Windows, and my power button doesnt work once Windows has loaded. Ive already tried reinstalling my motherboard 4in1 drivers and my video drivers, and still cant get it to work properly, ive also tried running the pc with no usb devices plugged in, and that wont work either. So yea, caution to anyone else that uses the latest BIOS flash. Also, i cant seem to find the A4 version, seems like every site that hosts it, uses the same server, which appears to always be down. Im gonna give it a few more days and see if i can find the A4 version, otherwise i may just flash back to my stock BIOS for now and wait for the next new version to be released.

Update: Well, it either appears that i no longer have power button functions after flashing back to the original BIOS that came on the board. So either it is not the BIOS version that is causing the problem, or it was the BIOS Flash that cause the problem, and now the problem remains. Im going to try a few more things and see if it is a Windows issue, or hardware, but ive run the system with NO hardware besides VGA, ps/2 KB, and ps/2 Mouse, so Im pretty sure its not a peripheral thats causing the problem. I just hope that I dont have to do a clean install to get power management back.

Mice and keyboards can cause problems to, just for the sake of being thorough you should try a different set of peripherals

Already beat you to that, tried 2 different keyboards and mice, triend with keyboard and no mouse. I think the issue is just my system. Probably went thru too many different changes at the same time and confused windows. It probably doesnt help that i messed my original XP install and just did that restore option so i wouldnt have to reformat and reinstall all my programs. Next step right now is to just back up my map data, do a clean install of XP and SP2 and see what happens from there. Its probably a corrupt HAL and its probably my fault, but at least i have the weekend to find out, and worst case after all is said and done, at least if i dont fix anything, ill have a fresh clean install of XP and my softwares.

You tried contacting them? I tired to get the updated bios and tried to flash with WinFlash, but it told me that bin files was incorrect. I have the Versa rebranded and not the orignal jetway board. I guess I should not update it.

Maybe the registry was modified stopping you from going into standby

I actually have the Vista labelled board that the OP brought up in this post. Im not even sure anymore what the deal is with them, whether the 4 of 5 different names its sold under are in fact the same boards made by Jetway or not. As far as BIOS, as long as you are getting one that is for the CN700 Northbridge and 8237 Southbridge, you should be just fine. The official ones from Jetway work just fine with the chipsets.

Im really thinking that it was not the reflash that caused my system errors, because the more i think about it, the more i keep thinking the problem has been going on a lot longer than i can trace, when i first got the system installed in the car, i just thought that when the system powered down, it was supposed to keep the fans running based on the M2-ATX instructions i had. At first, i kept my screen attached to the same accessories as my stereo, so when i took the key out, the screen would close before i would even be able to see if the system was actually shutting down. Now more recently, ive noticed that the system never actually does shut down, and the hardoff after 45 seconds is just powering off the system while still in windows. What i dont understand is why windows doesnt throw the boot menu next time i turn it on to ask me what mode i would like to start with.

    Ok, Update again...

I have verified that it was in-fact my re-installation of XP that caused the loss of ACPI. I now have control of my power button inside windows again. Fortunately for me, i took a gamble and just re-installed over the existing copy again, but this time I made sure to installed for an ACPI PC (hit F5 during initial setup from CD-ROM, when it asks to hit F6 for RAID drivers, and scroll up until i got to the ACPI PC option, then hit enter). Finished re-installing windows, and of course then i had to re-install SP2, but after all that, I now have full power management control thru Windows, so everyone can rest easy knowing that its not the board that is incompatible, just my crap luck with WinBlows. Go ahead with the A5 BIOS, but make sure you re-install windows, or just dont install OS until after updating BIOS and you should be good to go.

I have this board. Seems to be running pretty slick. Anyone know how to get the on board 6 usb ports to go to usb connectors?
