is this for a TV-out monitor or a VGA monitor? I would say it would be fine, if nothing fried then thats cool....

maybe just get some 75ohm 1/4 watts anyway - resistors are dirt cheap anyway...

It's to trick the computer into thinking there is a monitor so the computer doesn't get upset during boot.

radio shack had no 75ohm.. and they didn't seem to concerned about that so since I already made this one I'll probably just use it

yeah I have the same device on my Geforce 2 in the car.... I used 75ohm resistors, but I guess if its working for you then u can stick to it......

how exactly do you use the 75 ohm resistor. just solder it to the video cable inbetween connectors??


and a little off topic. can anyone tell me how to make a 12volt to 7 volt voltage regulator?

Less than 75 ohms could hurt something. More than 75 will not.

100 ohm resistor will do the trick. Anything over 75 will.. since your video card needs at least 75 ohm resistance to think something is attached to it at the other end.

inline, i had the same problem as you when i first went to do the resistance. I came up with a good cheap way to do it without wasting video cables. I can put up like a howto with pictures and such if anyone is interested.
