    Post Kenwood MP3

Saw this on the Kenwood website:

    Kenwood MP3 system

Looks like the first commercial player that I actually like, unfortunately it's only for 2001-2002 kenwood headunits, but its capable of holding 10 GB of MP3,WAV, and WMA. It comes with a removable HD and docking station for tranferring media. And one of the coolest things is its all one system so you can control it with the headunit as well as use the LCD on your headunit for Cd text and ID3 tags.

Plus this way you can buy the headunit you want from a good brand and then add on, but still get similar functionality + that all in one feel of something like an Empeg unit.

Just thought some of you might be interested.

I like the concept (which has been out for a while now) and am glad a major company is making it but the fact that you have to have a new kenwood cdplayer seems unfair. I'm sure there will be adapters (storebought or homemade) soon that allow you to use it with others but that just adds to the cost. It's definately something to consider but until that $749.95 pricetag drops ALOT, I'll stick with my setup.

Heh, seriously, considering my 5" lcd based 60gb harddrive having mobile desktop didn't cost much more than that. and ill take my mobile desktop over that anyday (when everythings working correctly atleast ).

Yeah same here, I don't think I would pay even half of that for it considering it doesn't seem to be upgradeable although they may offer a larger storage size (I don't know if they do). But I figured since many people come to MP3car liking the idea but are afraid to build one because of lack of knowledge or don't have time...etc and they just want something simple to setup than this is for those people. (Considering they have the funds)
