Hi!
I've searched the forums but didn't find any thread answering my question.
As probably all of the VIA M10000 know, you have to use all 3 of the jacks to have the 5.1 surround enabled in your car.
So...where do i plug in my microphone to use PhoneControl-like programs for handsfree mobile calling?
U have a point there...i didn't actually want to use 5.1 for the hulalala high quality surround sound...i just couldn't figure out any other way to control my rear and front speakers sepparately... I have a 60W rms with tweets in my front doors and in the back there are 120W rms threesystem speakers. So when i set the volume higher the rear speakers are getting so loud i can't hear the front ones.
Maybe you can suggest me a way how to solve this problem and it will solve my original problem too.
Thanks for suggestions![]()
Can you post a drawing of your setup?
I have no problem running 2 channels back to where my amps are and just using RCA splitters to make it 4.1
Am...i drawed a scheme, but i left out all things not related to sound...so no lcd, usb devices, ...

What about a USB solution, like this headset (which is strangely cheaper than just the USB sound card, $25)

Then set your sound properties in control panel to output through your onboard sound, but record from this device from Altec Lansing AHS 302 USB . Use the headphones for your PC at home![]()

I was kinda hoping that the solution wouldn't contain any more shoping, but if its necessary i'll buy those...so i'm open for any other solution.
I know have a microphone that comes with the standalone handsfree driving set for a mobile phone.
Well, if you had a powered mic, you could probably use the CD AUDIO IN connector...

Preamp for mic using transistors,
Won't cost much, the "TO AMP" section, you would feed into the CD AUDIO IN header on your EPIA M. 12v could come from any of the 12v powersupply wires, just need a jack for your mic.

I have a somewhat similar problem. I chose the path of the USB mic and bought a USB headset mic from the MP3CAR store. Now i can use the mic but the sound is too low unless i keep the mic next to my mouth (which is what it was designed for). I would need to mount a mic somewhere on my dash so this will obviously not work for me. Can anyone suggest a suitable mic ? I found this on Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...O0FSW&v=glance
cheers.
