Problem with alarm - remote start (fuel pump off?)

Hi!

I have just installed Magicar 902F alarm system and my installer is still figuring out what is wrong. I have a problem with remote start. Everything looks ok, but when I press the button for remote start, car tries to start the car, but fuel pump is off. It cranks but of course it cannot start without a gas. We checked every signal, every cable, everything is installed as it should be. What can be wrong here - any ideas?

most times, there are more than one ign feed that needs to be powered,,, most alarms only provide one output, you need to wire in a relay to power the other(s)... this has to be the problem, UNLESS.. you have some sort of passkey system that your not accounting for... what kind of vehicle is it??

It is 1996 Honda delSol. Of course when I try to remote start it, I leave a key in the car, because car has imobilizator and it is not possible to turn it on without a key (in case there is no key, starter doesn't even start cranking). This is the only protection in the car, and of course car alarm itself. It looks like when I start the engine with remote, that fuel pump stays disabled (off), but I don't know why.

don't know much about the hondas, but I've seen some imobilizers that need the key to turn at the same time...

if your alarm is doing everything your ign switch is doing it has to start... your missing something, either the imobilizer, which you will need an interface for anyway, or a power lead not being brought up...

Ok, interesting... but I think it doesn't work that way in Hondas... for example:

If I don't have a key in my car and press remote start, the car doesn't even crank (starter is quiet). If I put the key in, it will start cranking and engine will turn on (for 1/2 second till it is out of gas - fuel pump off).

What do you think?

I think whoever installed it didn't do it right. Yes you need to have a spare key inside the dash, as well as a device to 'fool' the tranciever into thinking that key is in the ignition, but i've never run into that particular problem with hondas. It sounds like he may have missed an ignition wire or something.

Ignition wire? Not possible, because engine is cranking and turns on... it is something else, because I hear a relay for default alarm protection that disables fuel pump. But I don't know how it is possible that the same alarm that have a command to turn on an engine via remote, disables fuel pump at the same time?!

Is this car an automatic or stick? I had to disable the clutch wire... You should look at a wiring diagram for the ignition key cylinder, the ECU, and the MPI relay (if so equipped). There is more than just 1 wire that has to be active to start the car. Not too familiar with Honda's.

From your first couple build pictures, it almost looks like you have a manual transmission, unless you put a boot over the A/T shifter (which I did on my talon)

yeah, for my auto start, they had to put in my valet key into the dash, as well as disable my clutch wire so it works..

now I can start my car w/o pressing the clutch lol
