    Question Line Out Converter Problem!

    I've bought a new Converter for my 2 12" Pioneer subs to be combined with my factory radio. I've installed the converter correctly but I am recieving very little power from my subs. My amp is correctly installed, ground wire, remote wire and my 4 gauge wire installed correctly. I do not understand what could be the problem. If anyone could please help me out, I will gladly appreciate it.

    Im guessing your getting some output from the subs, its just real quiet?

    If thats the case I would first check the settings on the amp. Make sure the line in is set to Low Pass, and that the Gain and Crossover knobs arent all the way down.

    Also check the LOC, some have an adjustable level output that could be causing it.

    I'm gettin low putput from the subs but just very very low. I know the amp settings are bass (set to +10), tremble (set to +10), and the gain is (set to like -4 to 6). If i turn the gain up high it will sound like the speakers are BUSTED, so its low. When you say "line in", what do you mean by that? I don't have a crossover knob on the amp (its built-in, so they say). What does LOC mean? I know when i adjusted the speakers from the subs to my 6x9's, they were gettin power but when i ran the subs through the amp, it was gettin very low power. I'm new to this audio stuff man!

    Usually, on an amp that can be used for both mid/high speakers and subs, theres a switch, for like, highpass-normal-lowpass, so ya crossover like you said. I doubt this is your problem, but it couldnt hurt.

    LOC = Line out converter.

    If you get good signal to regular speakers on the same outputs, then that would narrow it to the subs them selves. Maybe not wired correctly?

    If its a sub amp, you wont have that, and forget what I said :P

    I'd hate to state the obvious, but have you checked fade/balance to make sure they're not screwing you? Also, how low do you have the gain set? You'll probably have to turn it up since you're not getting an enormously strong signal from that line out converter. That's the problem with those things, they're only as good as the factory head unit.

    What is the year make and model of the car?

    What some cars actually have is a low-level input to a factory amp, and the L.O.C. is thinking that that low-level is actually hi-level...

    Year Make and Model?
    And do you have a premium sound system (factory amplified?)

    It's a 2001 Monte Carlo. I am running the amp off the factory radio w/ blue remote wire (from the fuse box), 4 gauge wire hooked up from the battery with 12 inches away from it. Both leading to my trunk, to the amp where the ground wire is installed from the side of the trunk to the amp. The L.O.C. has the 4 wires and both wires are attached to both of the 6x9's that has a factory amp installed already (for the 6x9's). The rca cables from the L.O.C. is connected to the other RCA cables from the amp. The speaker wires are goin str8 to the subs. the bass level is high, the tremble level is high but the gain level is low (there are no other control button on the amp), if i was to turn the gain level up, the subs will sound very very very bad. The subs are 12" pioneers (450 watts a piece) and the amp is a Pyramid (1000 watts max power). Thats the details of my hook-up.
