Jetway C7 1.5GHz or OPUS 250w

Hey All,

I've hit a serious dilemma.. Over the past few months ive put the parts together for an 2.66GHZ "Northwood" Based P4 Micr atx System with 512RAM, the only thing i need to order now is a OPUS 250 :tune:

But these new Jetways seem fairly sweet and i could get a Jetway and PSU for the price of a OPUS 250, I like the idea of having all my carpc requirments for the next few years met by the P4 System but the Jetways are a serious temptation, they seem to have solved all the issues about a lack of power that the Epias had with this new cpu but onboard via is a concern (Have to have the VIS).

What do you guys think? Jetway small and low power, P4 big and Powerful.

I'm using the J7F2 1.5Ghz board and found it to be really good. There's reportedly a 2GHz Jetway board coming soon too.

I have the same one, the 25 watt version. The C7 processor goes to a max of 2Ghz, but it's supposely not out yet, but soon. I overclocked my 1.5 to a max of 1.65 stable, anything over that and it crashes.

If you get the 1.5Ghz 12watt version, it may be able to OC to 2.0Ghz. The default FSB is 100Mhz, with a stick of DDR2 4200 that runs at 533, you can incrase the FSB

The jetway has optional CF/PCMCIA slot. I think it comes standard on the MII...??? It's basically the same CPU type, but with higher clock speed. I'm sure 1.2 GHZ is enough if you want to play MP3 and some videos. The 1.5 will handle some compressed video files better. even OC'ed it will not handlle HD or h.264 files.

We are all used to fast computers, C7 processors are nothing fast, and it is annoying to wait for the computer to process. I would go with the fastest computer I can within the limits of your needs and budget.

i duno. i have an O250 and when theres a big storm and my apartment looses power i just run my house off that power supply haha.
