Yeah!!, almost finished, but have question about powering monitor

Update: After frying my motherboard, I am almost ready to install everything into my car. As soon as the new motherboard comes in, I'll have a test run. The monitor looks great in the dash (didn't leave it b/c it was powered by the cigarette lighter). I tested it with my primary laptop. I hacked the cd changer cable in the car so I didn't even have to run any cables. Everything was already there. The best thing was that my factory cd changer cables were shielded so I get no noise in the video at all. I reassembled the touch screen into its new home (my factory radio) which was fabricated by chopping the bezel of both the lcd and the factory radio (I was OK with this as the thing was messing up anyways). I just plug it into the factory cd changer harness and its ready to go. I have a question, though. The screen came with the car adapter, but it has no power regulation. Is it bad to run the screen off of a cable that's not regulated or should it be fine since it was the cable that came with the unit? I was thinking of hard wiring it straight into my acc switch.

The power supply for the laptop was supposed to be regulated, but I don't know what happened. it just turned off for some reason. I'm waiting for my paycheck so I can buy a carnetix. As for the LCD I decided to use my targus laptop PSU to power it even though I think it may have a regulator built in (i Don't know though). Better safe than sorry. Now the lcd is getting a continuous regulated 12v dc.
