    How to enable serial port?

    Sorry if this is a newbie question or whatever, but this is driving me crazy. I'm trying to get my XM to work but when I plug the cable into the serial port the computer doesn't read it. I know my wiring is done correctly because I tried using a serial to usb cable and connecting it that way and it works fine. With the serial to usb cable device manager lists it as com port 3, but there are no other ports listed. thanks

    Check to see that the serial port is enabled in the BIOS.
    If it's enabled in the BIOS and Windoze doesn't recognize it, then something is FUBAR.
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
