I agree, I'm about to order one o.O

Someone give me a good reason to go with SBC vs that damn little ezgo thing. The ezgo is finally cheap ($323 US after 10% discount from directron.com). The thing has basically all that wafer 7850 has and is cheaper. Why should I go with a SBC? Yeah yeah, I want to build the thing myself, but why should I and spend $200+ more after getting the TV-ou, psu, etc.?? That damn ezgo thing is just too damn tempting.

It's $600 after adding all the necessary components, which is still a nice price for the size.
it is in no way a DIN size....i have seen one in person. Also keep in mind that u need 18v to power that baby up.

i still think u should go to ur nearest compusa a take a look at it. Test it and then decide if u still want it. For house use, yes i will get one but for car, i rather build my own

I didnt think they would carry those...
< 4 gig is all I need for OS. If you read my sig you will see I have 40 gig USB hd. I dont see the point in getting a 200+ dollar 60 gig laptop hd. Thus, I only priced it out for a cheap 4 gig. Id do teh same thing if I decide to go SBC. Dont want anything too old...thus Im not gonna get a 540mb.
Anyways, I dont have room in my dash anyways for it. Pioneer ate up all my space. I was gonna put whatever i get in the center console. Room enough for either SBC or Ezgo. I am just having a hard time justifying price. I dont have a paid internship this summer...so all's I got it what is left over from the last. Hence the debate.
Thanks for your input though. I totally agree on building one over buying it already made...but its not cheaper this time around. Anyways, Im still stuck...someone just give me $200 and Ill go SBC.

Sure, 4 gig is all you need for an OS, but where do the MP3s and pictures and movies of nude females (for scientific purposes) go? I see the prices on their ezgo page are wrong, but with a 20Gig HDD, it'll still be about $550 - $575 with shipping.Originally posted by PoBoy

Too bad it sucks up so much power because it'd be great for a simple wearable computer. Buy a HUD, a wrist keypad, and you're set.
Yeah power could be of concern with all the crap I have in my truck already. Using all my crap at once and having my amps cranked to the max, I can drop below 10.3v. But that rarely occurs and only at idle of course...right before it dies. But anyways, dont need a 20 giger...Porn goes on the 40 gig USBHad to get rid of all my mp3's to fit it all on there though. Small sacrafice for quality stuff.
