Thread: What is best: small epia1000 or big p4 2.2

Yes...... if you have m2atx, and 256RAM, ..... what is your choice.... small epia or fast p4?

In my case, i try use both configurations..... first i use p4 2.2ghz, but i friend sell me epia1000, and is slooooooooow, and i return to my p4.




My tests:
All configurations with same hd (2.5 30gb, and 256RAM, windows xp pro, and m2atx)

Resume from hibernate times:
PCCHIP P4 2.2 Ghz : 16seg
EPIA1000: 17seg
DELL P4 2.2Ghz 6seg

Dimensions:
PCCHIP P4 2.2 Ghz : 20cmx25cm
EPIA1000: 12cmx12cm
DELL p4 2.2Ghz 28cmx28cm

Noise:
PCCHIP P4 2.2 Ghz : bad.. is very very very noising
EPIA1000: normal is noising but not same pcchip
DELL p4 2.2Ghz silence, lovely Motherboard


Performance Testing with street and trips 2006:
PCCHIP P4 2.2 Ghz : fast as pcchip
EPIA1000: ****!!!! slow!!
DELL p4 2.2Ghz fast same as pcchip


BIOS speed wake from hibernation
PCCHIP P4 2.2 Ghz : uggly slow, and put in screen tests of ram and HD, about 3 seg
EPIA1000: put a image, and delay about 2 seg
DELL p4 2.2Ghz not put image, go directly to windows. is REALLY FAST. IS AMAZING.


Final worlds: Epia1000 is a ****, i never try to use this mother because y my first test i use pcchip p4 and in my second chance i use amazing ultrafast mother board dell p4.
Epia is very slow for my request, maybe have alot of good things, have sournound 5.1, is small, s-video enabled, low energy, and many many good things.... but not have speed.

I prefer use a largue case for my computer dell, in my trunk. That use a small an pretty case with epia but have a slow machine.

Street and trips 2006 is flashing because epia is slow, and when i push a button the fist time that is running my RR with simplistique Skin, is slow, about 1 or 2 seg to work. (only the first time that i push button in screen, when the instruction are in ram, are more fast)




My small epiam enclouse with pci wintv support, and my big dell (this week i go with blaksmith to fabricate my custon encouse for my dell)
