TV/Radio Tuner Antenna Help!

I have installed a TV/Radio Tuner to my car PC and connected the Radio antenna. I have a vette so the my antenna is embedded in my back windshield, I know i had no problem when i had my stock radio, could get all station crystal clear but now I get 3 stations if lucky and they are broken signals so with this i didnt even get a TV antenna coz i thought i will have the same issue. If i put the car on park the stations get a bit clearer than drivin. SO i was thinkin do i need an amplifier connected between the TV/Radio Tuner and radio antenna. Or do i need to buy another TV/Radio Tuner that have much better capabilities.

I am open to suggestions and advices and I am new in this car PC thing but i am learning as i go along. appreciate any input

My guess is that you're getting electrical noise into the circuit board of the receiver. What kind of unit did you purchase? Can you wrap it in tinfoil as a test, to keep out extraneous RF? The thicker the better, so you might want to fold it over a few times. Typical car antenna connectors are not UHF style, so I'm wondering what kind of connector the tuner has, and how you connected the antenna to it? This is a VERY important junction, and you're going to witness a dB loss, unless the receiver can accomodate the stock plug.

I'm just curious, what year/color is your Vette?

I have a station wagon, but sometimes I pretend I'm in a Vette!

The vette is a 2001 coupe silver color.
Well the PC I got was configured by Drivesoft, I told them what i want and they send me the things and i installed in my car. I will open the unit on the weekend and see if i can find what brand of TV/Radio Tuner I have and what kind of connection i used. U said I wrap with tinfoil did u mean the PC case or what?. I will gather the info u mentioned and post them and see if i can get more guidance.

I am new to this thing I used to put desktops together but never had a TV/Radio tuner involved so thats a new arena for me.

By the way do u recommend a brand of TV/Radio Tuner thats much more less cumbersome and more quality.

Ahhh, I guess I should have asked if it was internal or external. I wouldn't put tin foil inside your pc! If your computer has a plastic case, you could try lining the outside with foil, just as an experiment. I can't suggest a tuner because I dont have much experiance with them. I have a Hauppauge PVR USB2 that I am playing with and in my opinion, it all comes down to the antenna. Like I said, I have a wagon, so I plan to purchase a "boomerang" type antenna, like what you see on limosines. Sorry that I don't have any better advice, but it's probably worth trying another antenna as a test.
