    USB Power Exceeded

I've searched on here about this, and only seem to see this issue happening after suspend on machines.

My situation is different. I'll be driving a long and all of the sudden will get the message that a USB device has exceeded blah blah blah . . .

It is almost always my USB GPS reciever.

Take note that this system was working fine in my other car, I simply moved it from one car to another. No hardware or software changes at all.

    What could be causing this?

    Thanks,
    Todd

    How is the GPS connected?
Straight to the USB or through a hub?

If it's connected to a hub, make sure that hub is getting enough power, otherwise the GPS is probably trying to draw too much power from it.

    how is everything wired up?

hardware didn't change, but the wiring won't be the same between the two vehicles.
