Via Cpu ???
I am getting very confussed with the VIA c7 range... offering same clock speed and different power usage.
Will a 7.5W 1.5ghz VIA c7 perform the same as a 25W 1.5ghz VIA C7?
How do the via C7 compare with the Geode range,
I am designing a system to act as a record on movement security device for when I am not with the car. As the car will be off how long can a car system run on the cars battery (it has a typical battery will have to check exact Ah)?
Are there any recomendations for hardware to extend run time without compermising too much on performance ?
will I be better off with usb webcams or a PCI CCTV board from a power consumption point of view?
Not sure but power difference is probably down to different on board stuff.
For power consumption take total watts divide buy 12 will give you amps, divide Ah of battery by amps and that will tell you how long it will run for. Take a bit off as you don't want to discharge the battery too much.
Power wise the usb will be better but as their video performance is rubbish and this is for security then use the proper cctv boards.

I understand the physics of what your saying but can anyone with a VIA c7 system let me know how long it will run on their battery (engine off) untill the current converter trips out?
if you can put your spec and battery Ah that would be great help
