COOL USB indash...can this be modified?

Here is my situation: I am building an indash MP3 player for my Yamaha Rhino ATV. I want to use this headunit (it is tested waterproof):

BUT...this headunit does not offer USB interface. But I found this really cool USB interface for alpine...check out that indash USB insert!!

Anyway, is there anything out there that can let me use a Marine unit with USB?? I like the Alpine USB interface...but alpine does not make marine players.....or wired remotes

I cant find a single Marine unit that offers USB. There are a few units that offer MP3...but id really like either a USB or SD slot. I would love a wired remote thats waterproof with USB

Anyone have any suggestions? IS there another way I am missing here?

Good idea.

Try looking at marine supply sites to see if you can find just the box to mount the HU in. Its been a while since I did it, but we installed a CAR HU in my father in laws boat and used a waterproof stereo box. HU goes in box, box goes in cutout and all is sealed up by a flip up latchable cover.

David -- great idea, but that is what everyone else does for their installs. I mean, its the best way to go, but like everyone else on here, I wanted to do something different, custom, and flush. Also, I would like to just see a wired remote rather than the HU for security reasons.
