Thanks for the reply. I guess I may just go the way you say, with a newer laptop or itx board so that i can remain in the low power realm. My car already has a pretty good load on the alternator (lexus with all the computerized gadgets), so low power may be a better alternative. I might just try and use my other laptop. . .2.8 ghz compaq amd sempron (or buy one with a busted lcd). I believe it draws about 90 watts and has a larger hard disk. I guess if I'm going to stick to laptops, I'll just go ahead and get the audigy zs. Well, here's to back to the drawing board! Cheers!

Yeah, a docking station would be great, but my laptops don't accept one. I may look for one on ebay that does, though. i have had laptops that had these.
I purchased the audigy 2 zs pcmcia card today. I'll use the kx project drivers with it and get my 4.1 out needed. Can't wait to try it. I'm going to upgrade the laptop by next summer hopefully. May just buy a brand new one for it. We'll see. It depends on what suits my needs best. I wonder if a faster laptop 2.5 drive would speed this computer up any? May try that first.
