I know alot about the system because I have the same system in my vehicleFour buttons is the most you will find on any aftermarket remote. Also, each manufacturer uses different frequencies and codes for security. I do know that if you turn code hopping "off" (everytime you press a button to transmit, the security code changes in sync with transmitter and receiver), you could probably build a device like a LCD remote or something to transmit on the same frequency and have the receiver learn the new "remote". I have replaced customers three button (lock/unlock, rem start, trunk) remotes with four button (separate luck/unlock like yours) for different models that didn't offer four button remotes.
Also, I could check tomorrow, but I think I paid $150 for my bitwriter 5 years ago. All I do is buy the upgrade chip ($10) for the newer software models.
