Cheap Slim Slot DVD + Adapter

I have heard a lot of discussion about slim slot loading dvd's from imac going for cheap on eBay right now and have not seen one go for under 60+shipping lately. So you can them from Other World Computing for $50 USD. Also, cenwesi showed us where to buy the adapter for $18 USD, here. I have not ordered from either of these guys, but plan to. Let me know what you think.

Thanks SPyder_Flex97, i dont really care about an adapter stickin out. Its not going to be visible where i am going to mount it. Besides, i dont see any other alternative for the price. If you know of one, let me know. Even if it sticks out, its still perfectly functional ( I hope).

Sorry no pics of that here... i dont own any of those other adapters... only the right one.

The point of getting a slim slot load drive is to make a small install.. .maybe a din size or such. If size wasnt important to you, i suggest u go buy a regular pioneer slot loading cdrom. Buying a small drive and then effectively making it 40% wider because of a pcb that sticks out defeats the goal.

Btw if it sounds like im trying a sales pitch on you.. im not.. the $3 that i make on each adapter isnt enough of an incentive for me to work too hard.

I wouldnt really call it "make" anyway... i took the time to get every pinout, then test continutity on all 50pins and map them out, and then figure out how to attach to a 50pin socket. Its too bad the part is expensive to begin with... but thats what u need to do it right.

I found the adapter, that doesn´t stick out, compare the photo from the one from cableclub and from this one , but i don't know how much it costs.
I think that this company is in Germany, maybe someone from there could make the contacts and then let us now prices, and stuff, just a thought.

This company also makes cables for LCD, with those hirose connectors.

EDIT: i know that it doesn't show in the list the iMac drive, but it should work too
