Exclamation 2006 Honda Civic EX navigation system

Just bought a 2006 Honda Civic EX with the sat. navigation system and I absolutely love it. Some pictures and video's were posted in another thread so def. go check it out.

My question is what PC Slot Cards are compatible with it, I have no idea what memory card would be compatible with this audio system. Please help, I want to get a 2G card for roughly 800 songs.

here is a link to a card I found, will it work?

It looks like the card slot is for a PCMCIA card so you'd need an adapter for SD or CF.

    Also:

So, you need an adapter like this:

To use the SD card you have linked. One word of caution, check some of the Honda forums to see what those guys are using (this adapter may be too long and not allow the face to close).

Another thing, this site is catered to enthusiasts who are putting a PC or customized setup into their cars. If you are planning to modify your setup then you will be able to find a lot of good info here, if you are just trying to figure out how to play mp3's in your car, it's not really the right place. The name of the site is a little misleading at times.

Here's another bunch of posts about your setup:

It was a little frustrating reading because of the lack of good technical information. I guess I'm just used to technical people talking about technical things and not the guy with a Sony laptop trying to figure out why the CF card won't stick in the memory stick hole.

    hah

    Sorry for the confusion.

You are right though, there is like little tech. info on at PC slot.

Technically, isnt adding a PC Slot adapter considered a customization which therefor lets my post become appropriate for the site? haha

Thanks for your help, I think it is best that I just stick with the data cds for the mp3 system.

When I decided to update my door speakers I will def. come back to this site, you guys really know your stuff. Once again thanks for the help.

Oh and you were right, if I were to add the adapter the face wouldn't be able to close. The audio can still be controlled and so forth but it might be a little cumbersome.

How much was the option for nav from the dealer? If you opt for the standard stereo, does the console change?

The navigation system is a 2,200 option. The console in not changed by much if you dont opt for the system. The car still looks sweet, but personally I love my navigation system.

Let me know how you made out.

Is it possible to use a 2006 Honda Civic Ex Navigation System and do something with it so you can watch DVD's on the screen and possibly hear in the car?
