Jetway J7F2, PicoPSU, voltages and Myguard problems

Having strange problems with my Jetway J7F2, advice appreciated

I've installed the board with the 120W Pico PSU and it has resulted in the Myguard hardware monitoring software coming up with abnormal voltage warnings. Apart from then sounding an alarm noise, which I can't switch off unless I close down Myguard, it has also stopped the fan control working, so the CPU fan runs 100% now.

The warning message says that:
VBAT = 0.00
VSB3 = 0.00
5V = 5.80
5VSB = 5.75
1.5V = 0.75

These readings are beyond the core voltage threshold settings that you can change on one of the Myguard screens. Would people recommend altering the core voltages threshold settings, or will this affect the operation of the board?

It is a strange problem, I've tried reinstalling the software but no difference... I don't know if the Jetway boards are fussy about voltages.

When I first installed the board I used a Lex 110W PSU and the Myguard software that came on the CD. This allowed you to change all of the fan speeds... except that it only actually made any difference to the CPU fan, the case fans ran 100% regardless of the settings. The latest Myguard on the Jetway site only allows you to change the CPU fan speed in relation to temperatures... plus the board does not work with Speedfan. Dunno if Jetway missed a trick there...

Any advice appreciated

I don't know Jetway, I don't know Myguard, and I don't know PicoPSU... but I do know computers and those numbers are pretty off. Try a truditional PSU and compare the voltage readings.

Hi psyrex, the PicoPSU is the tiny DC-DC converter from mini-box.com. Myguard is a software package Jetway includes with the boards to monitor hardware and control fan speeds depending on temperature. There are quite a few threads on the Jetway boards, but after a search I decided this would be better as new thread.

I don't have another 'traditional' PSU to use, I only have a couple of other DC-DC boards, one of which I have ditched in favou of the PicoPSU.

I'd appreciate more info on how those voltage readings are way off...

Wich picopsu ? The one that need a regulated 12v input, or theone that can cope with a 6-26v input ? How is the psu powered: car battery or wall socket adaptater?
