Ive got the Pioneer XM sitting in front of me...just havent put it in. Ive seen a couple and I must say its pretty damn sweet. If you have digital cable, its basically that as far as the music choices. Add CNN, FOX, etc. Im a pioneer buff, so I will always recommend it.

well, i got a friend who works at best buy, and he says there just isnt much variety on XM. he says they just simply play the SAME songs over and over and over again. It isnt even commercial free. Not worth $10/mo IMHO.

i tried out the XM setup at Best Buy and the sound quality was amazing. It seemed like a nice setup and i saw a ton of channels. For $10 a month, ill stick with my Mp3 player and choose my own music...commerical free.

Dont even believe them when they tell u it is commercial free. If you think those commercials are annoying wait till they start playing the same damn songs over and over and over and over.....again

BTW, those commercial will also increase.

    Sirius

Sirius is going out of business. I wouldn't invest the money for the radio unit because it will be worthless in 2 years.

I actually short sold sirius in my stock portfiolio because their business model was so bad. (And made 28% in 3 weeks, too!)

Basically, they need to get 4 million users in the next 5 years in order to keep from going bankrupt. This would be the biggest growth rate of any industry...ever. Bigger than the internet, bigger than television or radio...it's just not going to happen.

XM radio has a chance (because they were first to market), but I think Sirius is going to go under.

And I have recently covered my short sell, so there's no coflict of interest in this advice =)

meh. why anoybody around here bothers with xm or sirius is beyond me. when youve got your complete mp3 collection at your fingertips, there is really no need for satellite radio.

now FM on the other hand i still see there being use for as its all local stuff so the commercials there and the events and whatnot that the DJ's talk about are all local and sometimes important to you.
