    Question X10 6-in-1 Remote Question...

    I'm just setting up my home automation system with X10's 6 piece ActiveHome package. It comes with a 6-in-1 combination IR/RF remote, but the RF portion of it is designed to control the master controller which plugs into a wall outlet.

    I'd *like* to get this working to control a PC. I've read all the posts regarding X10's Mouse Remote, but that item comes packaged with a specific RF receiver which plugs into a PC port.

    Anyone know if there's a RF receiver (maybe even the one for the Mouse Remote???) which will pick up the signal from the 6-in-1 ?

    Thanks :}

    Sorry, this will not work for you. There is no RF receiver that plugs into the PC that will work with the remote you have.
    I have a lot of X-10 equipment and I am certain of this.

    Your only hope is to get the Mouse Remote and RF receiver. Or of course, another remote set like IRMAN...

    I am using the Mouse Remote and it works very well!

    Actually there is a third choice.

    I got the wireless video transmitter receiver combo, and it was advertized as their mp3/dvd anywhere setup.

    Anyway it includes a RF remote with serial port receiver (like mouseman probably).

    I think it uses different drivers than mouseman, I had to use their "Boom" software to use it,

    but, it was neat to be able to adjust the volume and change songs, while I was in the garage and the truck was in the driveway.

    (of course the plugin is for mouseman)

    Cool

    Hmmm... Ok. Thanks, guys. I have other ideas on how to control it, but I thought I may as well keep my options open.

    If anyone else has any ideas on this topic, please post
