    input device ideas

    Short of getting a touch screen or a keyboard, what other ways can input be applied in "car-winamp" ?

    Yes controlling via IR-remote is simple and very good!
    if u only want winamp i think i saw somewhere on the net some buttons connected to LPT or com port - don't remember.

    About IRman - I searched google and clicked the first page and saw the price of 35$ - I think ist toooooooooooo much - I build my receiver for about less than 5€ (Euro) which is equal to ~5$ .
    So my tipp - build your own instead of buying it somewhere on the net at 35$ ! You can find a little plan on http://febenjix.de.vu a project page I set upo with a friend (its german but if you know a bit of electronic you should understand)- click IR remote and then introduction - there you have a shematic and part list.
    The shematic works with WinLirc - see links on my page .
