    Question attn fv24 owners audio quality ?

    how is the audio qualit on the fv24? i am debating getting an extigy to put on my machine. i hae the mobo on the way and was just wondering others opinions. thanks,

    I never even tried the onboard sound. I bought an external USB sound device for it.

    It can be had from www.minidisco.com, around 50 bucks. Very good quality if you ask me.

    The onboard sound is quite decent. It's not the greatest, but the sq is comparable to the SB live. I will be using the FV24's output in my car system, no need to replace it.

    I hooked both of them up to my reciever, the sblive digitally, and the FV24 analog.

    I played the same 320kbps mp3 on both systems at the same time, and switched between the two inputs on my reciever.

    When listening to mp3's, there's no discernable difference between the fv24's output, and the sblive. When listening to dvd's or other high-quality recordings, there's a small difference, but not much.


    I'm getting an extigy, but that's for my all digital home setup

    to play it safe just go with a Vibra 128 or SB LIVE! Good bang for buck on those cards .....

    I am having problems with my onboard audio on my new to me (used) FV-24 and windows98. What OS did you use ?? Did you have problems getting the audio to work ?
