    DIN In-Dash installation problems

I have an "INNOVATEK In-362DTM All-In-One 3.6'' Wide Super Clear TFT Colour LCD Screen" receiver. I have few problems during the installation into my Honda Civic 1997:
    • The faceplate is oversized, so I can't push the receiver in the dash to lock it into place. Any idea?
    • If I leave the receiver sticking out enough for the faceplate to attach. The receiver will "slide slowly in" when I drive around and knocking out the oversized faceplate. Is there a way I can bring the outer locking frame to the rim of the dash?

Is there any special product to extend the DIN/In-Dash to the rim of the dash?

    Please help! Thanks!

    Smile In-362dtm

Sorry to revive an old thread- but ...

I bought the IN-362DTM last week and just got around to installing it this weekend. I had the same problem as you - my dash opening was smaller than the faceplate. I attempted to install - and the faceplate motorized mechanism showed it's cheaper leanings. After one try to open when the faceplate was blocked - the mechanism broke. It's still functional - the manual way - by pulling up on the bottom of the faceplate - but still - it should not have broken so easily. !

My solution to the narrow dash opening was to buy a dremmel and widen the dash opening. I did a poor-to-ok job on the dashwork : \

I know of no commercial-off-the-shelf product that will resolve the too-narrow opening for you my friend, as I am sure you've found out.

I must say that - despite the shoddy hinge mechanism. This baby is loaded. I know the new version does Divx - but didn't expect it to be able to support Divx 6.5 Ultra embedded menus. It DOES. You can create a single DIVX file containing a full set of chapters and link them all from a motion graphic menu in a tool like ... Divx Author. Despite what I read elsewhere - this player DOES play media files from the USB port in addition to the DVD drive. I was able to watch my video files over a usb 2 memory stick. Although un-advertised in their manual - this unit also supports XVID beautifully.
