    Ram Question

I have a quick ? If a motherboard supports ddr2 667 ram, will ddr2 533 or pc 4200 ram work? Im guessing yes since its a slower speed and older boards that used ddr 3200 worked with 2700 but Im not sure with these newer ddr2 boards. Thanks

It will work, but it will operate at the slower speed.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Awesome Thanks for the fast responses guys.

Last ?... I have a stick of 512mb ram. The exact label says "512mb 1Rx8 PC2-4200" I know these were pulled from dell machines, but what does that 1Rx8 denote? Would it work with this motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135043

    Thanks again

Probably the manufacturer. If you google for "1rx8", you get a bunch of stuff including a pdf file with various RAM manufacturers. My guess it is the cheap *** company Dell buys their RAM from in bulk. Not meant to be seen by the average Dell customer!
