U get what u pay for
INNOVATEK = POOR QUALITY
MP3PLAYERSTORE.COM = POOR SERVICE
I purchased a IN-365DTM from mp3playerstore.com on eBay. It took over a week to get shipment (can't complain about that though). The first unit was defective. It would not accept any disk at all. I contacted mp3playerstore via email as indicated in the auction. After MANY emails un-answered, I tried to call. You WILL end up on hold for a minimum of 20 + minutes before speaking to someone that will tell you to email the return department.
I shipped defective unit back at my expense of $20. The seller (mp3playerstore.com) does not cover return shipping of defective units. It took just over 3 weeks to get a replacement unit. This was not without having to place a call and wait another 30+ minutes to find out why the return department did not email the status after several requests.
The second unit ended up as defective as well. I emailed the return department and (as usual) received no response after 10 days. So, back to the phone again..... another 20+ minutes on hold. After telling mp3playerstore that, due to the poor service and poor quality (100% defect rate AFAIC), I would rather see a refund. They said a refund was not available as it only applies for 30 days after purchase (the day the auction ended). Heck, that was expired between the shipping of the first DOA and the second DOA. After quite a bit of arguing my case and several long periods on hold, I was told that they would call me back the following day.
They finally did approve a refund of the bid price only. They will NOT refund the $40 dollar shipping or the $20 each time I had to ship it back to them.
So, I end up out just a little under $80 (providing that they do refund the $160 auction winning bid).
Stay clear of these decks, unless you feel lucky.
Bottom line, you get what you pay for.
If you have not ordered the Innovatek yet, I would consider another brand of the low cost suppliers on ebay. I may try the Power Acoustic next myself. Or, maybe just spend the extra bucks to get the JVC - the quality may be worth it.
I can only speak from my experience - 2 defective units, 2 return shipping charges ($40 total) - and I had to argue my case to receive a refund (still waiting!) after 2 defective units. And, they wanted to charge me the restock fee!!!
EDIT: added "(still waiting!)" to refund. I have only been approved to get refund of auction price only. I have yet to receive it. Even then - still out $80 total.
It has the identical remote, same volume, select, and other overall button layout.
All the wiring is identical to what I had.
It looks like it is from the same factory.
Good luck if you do go with it.
What was wrong with your 2nd unit they sent? And yea....already ordered it. Uh oh....
The second one would rarely accept any commands from the remote. Since many features are only available from remote (presets, TV tuning, etc.), it made it difficult to do anything besides putting in a disk.
Also, the faceplate would not release from unit. I do like to remove the faceplate when in a shopping mall or such - no sense in leaving "eye candy" for a thief.
